Passport Project
Students will complete a research project every month to help them understand and know their geography. Each month students will focus on a continent and explore a particular country from that continent.
- October South America
- November North America
- January Asia
- March Africa
Students will create a passport with stamps from assigned destinations. There will be two parts to the project; a research portion and budget exercise.
Part 1 will include basic research information about assigned country
- Flag
- Map of country
- History
- Climate
- Culture (music, religion, holidays)
- Interesting Facts (at least 3)
Part 2 students will be required to create a 3 day trip to a destination within the student’s specific country. Students must include where they will stay, what activities they will be interested in doing, different attractions they would like to visit and create a budget that will cover all travel expenses (airfare, hotel, food and activities)
Passport Book must contain 10 pgs (minimum)
The following must be included
- Cover
- Pg 1 Student Info (Picture, Name, DOB, Place of Birth
- Pg 2 Name of Country, Image of Flag, Map of country and climate
- Pg 3-4 History of country
- Pg 5 Culture (Music, Holiday, Religion…etc)
- Pg 6 Interesting Facts (at least 3)
- Pg 7 3 day trip to a particular destination
(1-2 paragraph with detailed plans of trip)
- Pg 8 Spread Sheet of Trips Budget
- Pg 9-10 Pictures of country (national monuments, landmarks, tourist attraction)
Passport projects will be worth a total of 2 Grades
